The EU funded project ECOSYSTEM is already running! The official Kick-off meeting of the project took place last 6th – 7th October 2025 at the coordinator facilities (FUNDITEC-Madrid). During the in-person event, consortium partners introduced their roles and ideas for achieving the project goals.
FUNDITEC, the project coordinator, organised an in-person event at their facilities. During the meeting, the consortium members were able to share ideas and plan the next upcoming steps for initiation the research activities. All partners presented their involvement at their corresponding tasks to be carried out in the project as well as the official deliverables they will oversee. The forum was a great opportunity for partners to engage in discussions related to workflows, milestones, technical details to be strongly considered and synergies. Finally the consortium reviewed the project participation and responsibilities towards the Pathfinder Portfolio in which ECOSYSTEM will be involved.
The consortium is formed by 9 members from Spain, Italy, Denmark, Cyprus and Zech Republic and bring together experts on polymeric materials, plastics, circularity, cellulose and furfural production, synthesis of aromatic and aliphatic monomers, mechanochemistry and white biotechnology, eco-active food and pharma packaging products, End-of-life solutions, biodegradability and reusability, policy, communication and dissemination.
